Q: How do I activate my TypingTrail license?

A: After purchasing, follow the included instructions to submit your activation request. You’ll receive your license key by email.

Q: What happens when my license expires?

A: You’ll no longer be able to open new lessons. However, your progress is saved. You can renew or upgrade your license at any time.

Q: Can I reinstall TypingTrail on a new device?

A: Yes. Just contact support with your original purchase details and HWID of your new device.

Q: Is internet required for license activation?

A: Yes, but only during activation. After that, TypingTrail works fully offline.

Q: Can I install it without administrator access?

A: Administrator privileges may be required for installation, especially for activation and voice setup.

Q: Do I need to install a screen reader separately?

A: No. TypingTrail has built-in narration and doesn’t require JAWS, NVDA, or any third-party screen reader.

Q: Can I install it on more than one computer?

A: Licenses are for single-device use. For additional devices, please contact support.

Q: How do I install TypingTrail on Windows?

A: Download the installer from your confirmation email and follow the on-screen instructions. Windows 10 or 11 is required.

Important Note for Windows Users

Because TypingTrail is a brand new app and not yet code-signed, Windows may display a “Windows protected your PC” warning during installation.
This does not mean the software is unsafe!

How to proceed:

  1. When the warning appears, click “More info”.

  2. Then click “Run anyway” to continue with the installation.

Q: What does “real-time feedback” mean?

A: The app tells you immediately if you mistype a word and provides audio cues and correction tips.

Q: How are lessons structured in Standard and Pro?

A: Standard includes 30 progressive lessons. Pro includes 40 lessons, with the final 10 focused on timed expert-level practice.

Q: Can I skip ahead to later lessons?

A: Lessons unlock in sequence. You must complete prior lessons (and pass tests in Pro version) to proceed.

Q: Is TypingTrail good for beginners?

A: Yes. It’s designed for all levels, starting with simple words and sentences in Lesson 1.

Q: How do I navigate the app using only the keyboard?

A: TypingTrail is fully keyboard accessible. Use arrow keys, Tab, and Enter. Menus are narrated as you navigate.

Q: Can I customize the voice narration?

A: Yes. You can adjust voice speed, pitch, and volume within the app’s settings.

Q: Does TypingTrail support screen magnifiers or high-contrast modes?

A: Yes. The app works well with Windows accessibility settings like magnifier and contrast themes.

Q: Does it work with braille displays?

A: While not specifically optimized for braille displays, most standard devices that work with Windows should function normally.

Q: Are lessons and tests saved between sessions?

A: Yes. Your progress is saved locally and resumes from where you left off.

Q: Can I retake lessons or exams for extra practice?

A: Absolutely. You can restart any previously unlocked lesson or test at any time.

Q: What happens if I fail a test in the Pro version?

A: You’ll need to retake the test until you reach at least 80% accuracy to unlock the next stage.

Q: The installer won’t open. How do I fix it?

A: Try running it as an administrator. If the issue persists, contact support with a screenshot or error message.

Q: How do I find my HWID for activation?

A: When prompted in the app, your unique Hardware ID will be displayed. Copy it and include it in your license request.

Q: How quickly does support respond?

A: We reply to all support emails within 2 business days, often sooner.

Q: I didn’t receive my download link. What should I do?

A: Check your spam/junk folder. If it's not there, contact support@typingtrail.com with your order number.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: We accept major credit/debit cards, PayPal, and Shopify-supported gateways.
